What a beautiful day for a ride! Throughout the day I saw Logan and Pyxie, Sashi and SM Mikes group, Chance and Kats group, Motodan and probably others I didnt recognize at the time. The long weekend and nice weather insured there were swarms of motorcycles, convertibles, sports cars, SUVs, road bikes, people, and cops out as well. There were also lots of 2up riders with their sweethearts out like I was today. Im really glad I didnt skimp on the winter riding after seeing and remembering how packed the roads can be when the sun starts to shine. Im just on the verge of 10,000 total riding miles and I can really feel the boon in my confidence as my skills continue to advance. It was fantastic to know that I was in complete control the entire day on every road in every curve especially when being responsible for myself and my passenger. Anyway I hope you all had as great a day as I had. Happy Valentines day everybody.

Wow, you're so lucky Carl. Not one other bike. I like seeing other bikes, except today I saw about 19,437 Harley's. Mostly parked outside of bars! Adam, I'm pretty sure I saw you today. Were you two up at the Pilot Hill gas station around 2-2:15?

I thought that was you Adam! Nice seein' ya buddy! Pyxie and I took a leisurely stroll up to Placerville today where we visited my mum at her work and got some breakfast out of the deal. When we saw you we had just come from Georgetown by way of Marshal Rd. Carl! GREAT PHOTOS! Fackin' gorgeous out there! Dan, I think I actually counted over 20,000 Harleys today. ...and was it me or were most of those guys too cool to wave back? I eventually stopped waving at them. Assholes.

thats cool you saw us out there Adam, we ripped around Mosquito ridge, Oxbow, etc. not sure where you saw us. Heres to 10 k more and beyond. I was stuck behind a group of hardleys at 49 at the really twisty part (hairpins), it was hilarious trying to see them negotiate those turns wi/ monkey bars and all that.

There is a Feb 14 "Sweethearts Ride" that brings out the Harley's. Of that 20,000 I think about 15,000 were at the bar at the corner of 49 and Marshall Grade. They were engaging in burnouts, wheelies, and all manner of "look at me" in the parking lots around the area. A couple of them got into some sort of accident by the nearby park and brought out CHP, Sheriffs, fire, and ambulance. The Sheriffs then made their way over to the bar to deal with the circus show. I must say though, I am still amazed at how efficiently the Harley turns gasoline directly into noise without the by-product of power.
