As 2009 comes to a close, a lot has happened over this past year.
SCR launched another new and better version for our website.
We've also had a lot of great events. Groups rides, newbie rides, track days, camping trips, weekly meetups, just to name a few.
Looking back, what were some of the highlights for you?

Moved to California, started riding, and got to meet a great group of people here at SCR. Hosting newbie rides while being a newbie was interesting and the camping trip was a great head first introduction to the group. 1000mile ride, 2 new bikes, 3 bike pile up, 4 crashes, and waaaaaaaaaayyyyy too much money later its been a hell of a first year. The best part of it all has been the people.

P.S. I know I shouldnt but I cant help but bring up the Blake thing, I still think that was ridiculous and funny.

I had a nice dice with Moto Dan and he turned out to be one of the
most gracious big hearted persons to ever type a story... I'm just a
    towering mass of respect..

I got back to riding, joined this group, went down my first ride and got more than enough help, found my third family (my real family, my scottish games family, and now my biker family), been on some really fun rides, went to my first track day for the RR 2.0 class, got hooked, found some relly nice family members to do whatever with and even brought my mom to a family thing and she was just another MOM for all of us, this is gret, the best, better than the army (where people get reeeeaaaaal close) yes, I will back up my SCR family 1000%, (can't say that about my real family(except for big sexy)). This is the real thing family. The last time I was this close to a bunch of people was in vietnam, with the guys I was at war with, and that's sayin somethin, cause I don't trust anybody to watch my back, and I feel safe with you all.!!!

I've had some of the best adventures of my life with Scr people. It is because of Scr that I am very close to achieving the career of my dreams. I've also done my first track day because of Scr, and become a better rider because of caring members on here

I would like to say I have had a really great time since I joined. I went on a great ride to Berryerssa and back. I love the Wed night meetings and all the great new people I have met. Looking forward to more of the same in 2010. I wish you all a merry xmas and a happy new year. Keep the shinny up.

Got married, moved to a great new house, baby Zoë arrived early but healthy, had a great year racing, getting my first holeshots and had some epic battles for first place.

Oh, SCR specific? Camping at RFR, getting more and more people comfortable at the track and lots and lots of Z² BBQs.

I've also got to say that I loved reading about chiara and Logan's adventure ride. Great stuff.

    Thanks Vik!

I was home much more in 2009 than last year, so I was able to take Jaymie to work when she couldn't drive with her broken ankle. Not to mention I was able to spend MUCH more time with her and the rest of the group than last year.

I've had my house for two years now, but it never felt like a home until this year and that is a great feeling. We even held Christmas here this year and actually had all the stuff to make it happen!

The best thing that happened to me this year, from a riding standpoint, was take my gsxr off the street and buying the V-strom. I can honestly say that I have had more fun riding this year than ever before. Just simply keeping it sane has made my ride much more enjoyable. The trip to Glacier was life-changing for me and something I would have never been able to do in the past. I think it is only the beginning...

Also, seeing new riders join the group, start acquiring gear on their own terms and doing trackdays, and becoming HOOKED has been the most rewarding SCR experience for me in 2009. These new kids are getting fast QUICK! I hope to see much more of it in the future.

I am looking forward to the Christmas party tonight because I think it will be a grand way to close the books on 2009.

Introduced to SCR and welcomed like family almost immediately. SCR members made me realize that I'm not as slow a rider as I thought (not to mention giving pointers and examples for becoming faster) and that makes me really eager to get on the track. Performed many mods for few dollars and will find a way to finish getting the sv sorted for track days with SCR in 2010!!

SCR really proved to be a great group of people this year. Coming from wakeboarding and other watersports, I wondered if riders may have the same clicky and often snob attitude. I couldn't have been more wrong. Everyone is fun to chat with along the way and just a ton of knowledge to share. The rides have opened up so much of northern California I never even knew about.
Thank you and loking forward to a great 2010!!

I got the bike I have been wanting for a very long time, Roadrider2.0 at T-hill, the group ride to Calistoga a few weeks back, a toy run and some wed night meetups. It has been a great year. I really enjoyed meeting all you SCR members and felt very welcomed on the ride, despite my pokeyness. I now have 1000 miles under my belt and a new set of tires. I am ready for 2010. Thanks all!!!

All I can say is the older I get the more I appreciate the finer things in life like riding and meeting up with family, friends and quality people. SCR is made up of all the above. Thank you all for a great year and looking forward to the next. HAPPY NEW YEAR all. Peace be with you.
