So my buddy and I went down 193, to 49 to Salmon falls today.. We saw several bike wrecks! NOT GOOD!!! remember the roads have cold slick spots.. this is not the time of year to push it.. take the time to enjoy the road and beautiful weather and save the knee dragging to the track! 3 bike wrecks in one day on one road!! the CHP was out in force too.. so just remember there are wet cold spots in almost every North side corner.. Ride safe!!
I also went down SF and saw CHP out there in multiple spots. Did not see any bikes but maybe they were doing clean up/reporting by the time I got there.
Yeah they were cleaning up one wreck and we saw 2 more just after.. :toetap05: the one looked OK and the rider was up with their Gixr trying to get it started. The other had emergency crews their and bikes all around..

Yeah that was the bad one!! I saw some bikes parked on the road so I assumed it was a bike that went down... I guess cagers die too! how easily we forget!

I know WTF!!! I see WRX's, Civic's, Vet's, Cobra's Mini's and what ever cars speeding all over the same roads we speed on!! :deadhorse:
SF has always attracted CHP and LEO's attention because of similar incidents and when coupled with frustrated residents, enforcement will be ridiculous come spring. I've watched it get worse every season for the last 7 years.
This would be the perfect quote if it was 1999. Salmon Falls has been played out for a looooong time. Honestly, I don't know why people bother with it. It's not a very good road, the cops camp out there, there are tons of driveways, dogs, traffic, etc.
today i saw a group of 5 riders, squids and newbies. i watched as they turned the corner from fair oaks to madison. two could turn then kept "popping wheelies" (couldn't keep 'em up), two almost fell making the corner, and the last one kept both feet down for the entire turn. they all had various degrees of "gear" on. one had black slacks and brown shoes with white sox, a flannel coat and his gloves were in his back pocket. salmon falls isn't the only place with riders who just don't get it.
I hear ya Vik. It was mildly entertaining back in the early 90's, but now it's practically the burbs with all the McMansions that have sprung up out there. I literally go years without riding Salmon Falls. It's not like I make a conscious effort to avoid it, rather it just never comes to mind.
The 80"s to 90's it was cage accidents, 90"s to 2000 bikes, now with the all wheel drive and application of Euro driving it is turning back to cages. Like the man said, its not the road, its the ride/drivers.
