Yes each person puts in 9 for a total of 27 but the cost was only 25 so you should actually be subtracting down to 25 to account for all of the money. The bus boy ripped em off for 2 bucks so theres 25. OR, Of 10 is seems like each spent only 9 but they should have got back 1.66 so it really cost them 8.33. Different ways of saying the same thing.

    Dear Ghostdog,

Who knows. This is one of the dumbest things ever. You are putting someone to death and really care about infection? Infection should be the last of their worries...

    NEXT QUESTION...

I much prefer 3 pounds of trigger pull for execution, all over in miliseconds, one nice clean hole in and no exit holes, that what the .22 is for

    Wdup money!

I want to buy a house. I plan to down 5% on the house. I could put as much as 20%, but that would nearly reduce all my liquid-$$ accounts down to the $100's of dollars total and make me live paycheck to paycheck for a long time... which I figure would be "unsafe" (in terms of "backup" cash) and having a mortgage... some of the unused money would also be used to buy applicances and junk (I'm estimating about $2k-3k - washer/dryer, refridgerator, couch, bed, curtains, lawnmower)

    So, now!!! here's the problem.
My car is acting up again. I'm having Fuel Injector fouled up (1 out of 6) along with other problems what will cause me to fail the SMOG test I have for June-2010. I have estimated the cost to range $1100 to $2000 to send it into the mechanic. This will certainly hurt my "backup" cash amount.

Not sure how to explain the thinking process... The decision to be made now is...
    1. do I spend $2000-3000 to get Honda/Toyota replacement and maybe 5years down the road get the truck (Total cost $2000-$3000 plus the truck $8000 = $10,000 to $11,000)? This assumes the Honda/Toyota will have dropped value to the point where it'd almost be a waste to sell it and might as well keep it as a beater or daily drive.
    2. Or spend $1000-$2000 to fix the car (BTW, this might be a recurring problem every 4years due to poor quality of the injectors) plus $8000 for the truck I want down the road (total = $9000-$10000)?
    3. or just spend $8000 now to get the truck?

Now, I know the Truck-option seems illogical, but it's something I've been wanting. And if I were to spend money in either repairing the current car or even buying another replacement, it'd be "money spent", and I figure I'd rather spend the money towards something I'd be getting in the long run anyhow.

But, again, I'll put my backup cash in limbo since a portion of it will go towards down payment.

My senses tell me to just pay the $1100-1800 to fix the current car and deal with it to save money for the "investment" of my life...

    I NEED YOUR VALIDATION!!!! :willy_nilly:

    *PS*
I could try to fix it myself, but I have limited access to the tools needed for the DIY fix.
The injectors on my car is estimated around 1-full day's worth of time. Knowing the way I work, it may take me 2.5days.
Then tack on 1-2days due to work and other mechanical problems found along the way. Totaling upto 1week for me to finish repairs on the car (working 2-3hours after work and then on weekends).
I was hoping I'd be in a house in the next few days, but things are getting held up at the BIG BANK, and I haven't a garage to keep the car while it's in pieces.

and just in case the option to "give up on the house purchase" comes up...
I don't want to miss out on this golden opportunity to buy a house while rates AND home values are low

    Oh yeah... Option 4
Dump all my $$ into lotto tickets and cross every limb and joint on my body that I hit the pot.
(this is for the humor side of your thread :) )

Hey there Donald... sorry to hear about your demise, but I'm sure we can figure something out.

First off, a few questions for you:
    1. What kind of car do you have?
    2. How many miles are on it?
    3. What kind of truck are you interested in getting (not what you'd settle for)?

    Ok Donald... here we go.

First and most importantly... Whatever you do, do NOT spend more than $500 to fix this car! Period. KBB has the car value at $1985 for one that is in GOOD running condition... it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense especially with how old it is and the mileage on the car. At this point its almost 20 years old and is going to be a money pit. There is no telling what will happen when its time to smog it again! OUCH!

With all vehicles right now this is a buyers market and not a sellers market (due to the economic slowdown). With that being said, selling the bike is out. :) I'm sure you are glad to hear that! You'd just take too much of a loss on it especially if you are looking to ride again in the near future.

My thought is that one of the reasons you are looking at a truck is so that you can haul your bike? I'm in a similar situation. I say for now skip out on the truck and find some other form of reliable transportation and get yourself a trailer etc. There are some fold up trailers on the market that stow away easily. Reasons for skipping out on the truck for now are: 1. Cost of the new truck, 2. Insurance is going to really SUCK for you, and 3. Gas mileage on your 4x4 when you probably will 4x4 almost never is also going to suck.

I say, buy the house, get your garage, and go from there. If you need a new vechicle now, go get a dependable ride that you can hook a trailer up to for your bike. Cheaper insurance, cheaper gas, cheaper registration, everybody is happy.

That too is an option, but just wasn't sure if the injectors / fuel rails etc are located underneath the intake manifold etc., and how handy donald is.

Donald, you may also want to ping Drftsub as he may be looking to make a little extra cash. He'd know what to do.

How deep would the ocean be if they removed all the sponges?
What do I get for Xmas for an 18 yo Girl, 16 yo Boy and 11 yo Boy when they seem to have everything.?...gift certificates are too impersonal as is cash.
Krispy Kreme at the corner of Sunrise/Greenback closed some time ago. Should I turn it into a coffee house (and food!) so that SCR has a regular place to meet with discounts for all? (picture a cross between starbucks/jamba juice and beach hut deli--but affordable)
Where do I find partners and/or money?

  19. me too so I looked it up and there were several nice tutorials on line line listing the tests to determine which is bad as well as the changing. The injectors appear to be above the plugs just under the fuel rail. The process claims 2 to 3 hours considering the prep and finish works

    Hey there Hollywood...

How deep would the ocean be if they removed all the sponges?

How deep is your pool if there is no water in it? Just as deep as WITH the water right? HA HA HA! Well I imagine that it would be just about as deep if you removed the sponges since they aren't made up of much besides the water that is in them.

What do I get for Xmas for an 18 yo Girl, 16 yo Boy and 11 yo Boy when they seem to have everything.?...gift certificates are too impersonal as is cash.

Impersonal or not, kids love cash... besides, you can't keep up with what kids want these days because they change their minds every 5 minutes. This way if what the get sucks they can't blame you for it.

Absolutely, but let me add that you should also have an alcohol license, a towing company, and a hostel. This way we can all come and party, drink till we pass out, and then get home with our bikes safely!
