Okay Mikey I am not gonna get into this with ya to much but I feel the need for a little defense. My dad works for Caltrans and happens to be one of the only guys in CA qualified to do the welding repairs on the bridge..he had to have surgery and is out for 5 weeks..Caltrans is having tons of problems related to that and other issues but by no means should be totally blamed..SHIT HAPPENS..

  7. old bridge, lame rushed repairs due to sucking up to PR

Time to rebuild, hell it's way past time on most of America's infrastructure and now that we've sunken to "it's all about the money" society everyone is bitching about who pays.
We can't address this until the issue of clean air, water and is it ok for gays to get married are done.

For now, take your chances crossing the bridge and remember your seat cushion can be used as a floatation device.

in short... I think Chiara is sayin' all of CA is broken ;)
if that's not what he's sayin, then I'm sayin' it... haha :D

we seriously need a overhaul in government... and what better time than RIGHT NOW! If not completely, then at least make and show the effort something is going on.

My girlfriend works for State of CA, and from all the stories and observations she sees just horrifies me and wonder how the hell CA is still up and running. But then again, she's at the bottom of the pit, so that might be where all the junk is ;)

hmm... I guess it wasn't so "in short"... my post was longer than Chiara's ... hehe.

Oooh really? Can he get me one of those Caltrans shirts with the pocket sewn on upside down so I have a place to put my shovel?

  10. You are a lucky man to have a girlfriend that works for State of CA. Just remember the state government is a combination of private and public sectors and many of the directions taken are those of special interests, not necessarily in the best interests of the general public.

I'd say the whole country is a poop hole
So what would you spend $84 Million dollars a day on?

Stumbling along isn't the same as up and running.

    Hey Angie,

I'm sure your dad's a hard worker and good at his job. No offense was meant. I think that Caltrans is mismanaged, which is endemic of many agencies throughout State government. It starts with the kids under the dome and trickles down.

I received a bill from Caltrans that was a little over $8000 to "fix" a guardrail I hit. It was a piece of metal, and $6000 was in labor.. something doesn't add up there.

Zip ties will never hold that. They need to use this.
