Seems like a possibility...more patent drawings circulated. https://www.asphaltandrubber.com/rumors/2020-honda-cbr1000rr-active-aerodynamic-patent/
"By bringing active aeros to the next generation of superbike, this patent allows Honda to have a considerable advantage going into the next season of the WorldSBK Championship." And a lot of new revenue to the dealership service departments... LOL
I hear it's a small part of the package that Honda used to convince Alvaro Bautista to leave Ducati. https://imotorbike.my/news/en/2019/09/alvaro-bautista-hrc/
There is a new Fireblade 1000 debuting at the Tokyo Motor Show this year. Aero is really the next frontier in cars (because you can't just throw power at things forever and still remain fuel efficient) so it stands to reason that the MotoGP trickle-down will continue with the superbikes. According to SPEEDWEEK, Honda is finally (i know, right?) going to throw some energy at the CBR and SBK. What makes this seem less far fetched is the Superbike team being brought to Barcelona to be run alongside the Repsol MotoGP team. Splitting from Ten Kate after almost 20 years and handing team management to Moriwaki didn't seem to do much good. Taking it in house again will work wonders, assuming they give it the attention it deserves and enough horsepower.
